This painting on paper is dear to my heart as it was begun last September when I was immersed in a month-long artist residency in Newfoundland at the Pouch Cove Art Foundation. Days were spent deep in the paint as well as daily hikes exploring the phenomenal geology and topography of this enchanted part of the world. The mood, color, and structure of the land around me seeped into these works.
